Modest Mouse brought the house down to a sold out show at Jannus Live on June 10, 2025, delivering one of the most packed and electric shows I’ve seen in a long time. From the moment the gates opened, the place was buzzing. Doug Martsch—yes, that Doug Martsch of Built to Spill—kicked things off with a solo set that set just the right tone. His mellow, introspective songs eased the crowd into the night, giving everyone a chance to settle in and soak up the vibe before things ramped up. When Modest Mouse hit the stage, the energy shot through the roof. The crowd was electrified, and the band was came out swinging, The crowd amplified their energy off with every note! It felt like everyone there was in it—dancing, shouting, fully immersed. And when they finally dropped “Float On”, the singalong was massive. You could feel the whole courtyard pulsing with joy and nostalgia. The encores mellowed things out a bit, but the crowd didn’t mind at all. People were swaying, smiling, and soaking up every last second. It was one of those nights where the music, the crowd, and the Florida air just clicked perfectly. A stellar performance from a band that clearly still knows how to connect with their fans. What really stood out was how much the band seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was a real sense of camaraderie on stage—joking between songs, a few playful moments with the crowd—and that vibe made it feel like a celebration as well as a concert. It’s always a treat when a band you love sounds this good live, and Modest Mouse absolutely delivered. The band had fun, the crowd had fun, I had fun!
