A graphic novel/biography exploring the incomparable cinematic life of Francis Ford Coppola, it serves to remind us what incredible, epic art he gifted us, especially through scenes from and behind the camera of the director’s most lauded movies.
There are plenty of interesting tidbits that give insight into the machinations of the studio system in the 70’s and 80’s and what it took to get a big budget film financed and made – including the extraordinary financial shenanigans and casting negotiations.
The Conversation, Apocalypse Now, The Godfather and its sequels, Dracula and more are all represented and explored, while Ameziane’s graphic art and ability to tell a multi-layered story are nothing short of fascinating.
