LIVE: DEADMAU5 – Nashville, TN, USA – March 7, 2025

It had been several years since I had been to a proper EDM (electronic dance music) show so when I saw that Deadmau5 was swinging through Nashville. I immediately made sure tickets were secured for this event. This was also the first time that I had seen the brand new venue in town called The Pinnacle, and I can say I was very impressed. The show was sold out which is amazing, but when you realize that meant 4,500 people in that venue it made it extra magical. There were so many people there to enjoy the evening and party. In true DJ style it was a progressive live mix of numerous singles from his back catalog like “Ghosts N Stuff” used several times throughout the set, but also a really well placed and total vibe sampling of Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.” He initially jumped onto the stage to do his change over with the opener sans his iconic mouse helmet. Once he got into his changeover and was fully into the zone he made sure to put the helmet on to help get the crowd motivated to party. After a few songs he took it and continued into his set.  Even though he didn’t wear his helmet the entire set there were several fans wearing homemade mouse helmets ranging from a joker and a stormtrooper to various other fun themed versions. Having been to EDM off and on for most of my adult life I can tell you this was one of the most hyped shows for me to get around to seeing. One thing I found really interesting about this show was that neither the opener or Deadmau5 brought any merch. This was one of those super rarities in my music going career that I had never seen any merch. Which to me if people are going to be really partying the last thing they will want to have to mess with is a shirt or vinyl record the entire evening.

Between the visuals on stage, the lasers, and music; I think that 4,500 other people would agree with me that this is one of those absolute magic shows one must catch. Highly recommend.
