Kerry King absolutely annihilated Jannus Live Tuesday night, proving that his reign of brutality is far from over! As a lifelong Slayer fan, I had high expectations, and King delivered a set so blistering it could have melted the amps. From the moment he took the stage, bathed in ominous red light, the energy in the crowd surged like a tidal wave of pure thrash fury. Ripping through a mix of new solo material and classic Slayer-inspired riffs, King made it clear that he’s still a force to be reckoned with. His signature chainsaw guitar tone was as menacing as ever, and every note felt like a battle cry for the diehards packed into the venue.

But before the main event, Alien Weaponry and Municipal Waste set the night on fire with their own brand of chaos. Alien Weaponry, the young Māori thrashers from New Zealand, were an absolute powerhouse, blending tribal war chants with crushing riffs that had the entire pit moving. Their stage presence was commanding, and their grooves hit with the weight of a war drum. Then, Municipal Waste took things to another level, turning Jannus Live into a whirlwind of beer-fueled mayhem. Their high-speed crossover thrash had the crowd in a frenzy, with circle pits, and crowd surfing erupting non-stop and bodies flying over the barricade like i’ve not seen in years.

By the time Kerry King took over, the atmosphere was pure, unrelenting aggression in the best way possible. Fans were screaming along, metal horns raised high, as he shredded through track after track with his signature intensity. The pit never slowed, and neither did King—his stage presence was larger than life, and his band was locked in like a well-oiled machine of destruction. Last night was proof that his King’s unique brand of thrash metal is alive, well, and ready to tear the world apart. An absolutely unforgettable night for any Slayer fan who craves speed, brutality, and pure sonic devastation!
