Baroness hit the stage to a highly energized and almost sold out crowd at The Basement East in Nashville, TN. This was the first time in a a few years that they had made a Nashville stop and the fans were ready for it. The evening was an absolute fun filled event. They jumped straight into the set playing a multitude of songs from their entire catalog including some that are rarely played. As soon as they got through their 3rd number “A Horse Called Golgotha,” everybody in the crowd was fully attuned to the stage. The band was absolutely energized and grateful to be there and play for such a high energy crowd. It’s always a breath of fresh air when you see everyone in the band smiling and having an absolute joy doing what they love doing to an adoring crowd. Lots of high energy and well timed pace of the show was perfect but time flew by too fast. I could have enjoyed another full set but the overall show was already packed with lots of high points and numbers. Their set only lasted around an hour and a half but how they stacked the evening with new and old songs it honestly felt more like a three hour set. When the band came back to perform their encore of “Isak” and “Take My Bones Away” everyone in the crowd erupted in cheers as soon as Baroness hit the stage. The reactions and attitudes of everyone leaving the show afterwards were excited and happy. There was not a sad face in the crowd except that the show was over. This is a band that is highly recommended to catch live even if you aren’t that familiar with their music.
