Movements headlined a killer sold out show at The Ritz Ybor in Tampa, Florida on September 16th! They brought along Heart To Gold, Softcult and Mannequin Pussy. Last year a hurricane cancelled their Tampa date that was also in September so everyone has been anxiously waiting for this show. Heart to Gold is a band that has been making waves lately and was perfect to open up this stellar lineup of a show. Their set was a soft opening to get us ready for Softcult. Softcult is a fem twin duo I’ve been hearing about for months now and they showed everyone that night exactly why. In between songs that got everyone off their feet the lead singer, Mercedes, reminded the crowd about supporting the LGBT community and supporting Women. Mannequinn Pussy, a band from Philly was missing a known member of the band that night but still put on a crazy hour filled set with sing alongs, jumping, dancing, and head banging. I fully believe there was not one person in that room not moving. Last for the night was Movements – they made sure to perform many popular throwbacks in between new songs from their latest release RUCKUS! Tons of crowd surfers and circle pits, all you could see from the back of the venue was every fan singing every. single. lyric. And of course they ended the night by singing their hit song “Daylily” which was a perfect song to close out the night. Highly recommend not missing this tour!
