On the last night of their North American leg of their Solidaritine Tour with which part of all proceeds are being donated to Care.org’s Ukrainian Crisis Response; Gogol Bordello with support from Amigo the Devil played to an almost sold-out venue of 1000+ crowd. Amigo played a great set full of energy and with a full band. It was an excellent start to a great evening. By the time the lights dimmed for Gogol to come on the room was ready. Before the band came on and the lights were still dimmed, they played the “The Red Viburnum in the Meadow” sang by BoomBox singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk. Gogol then hit the stage and went straight into “Sacred Darling” to massive cheers. The energy in the room was eclectic and perfect for the stormy evening. They barely take any breaks between and roll into every song fluidly and perfect. They also performed a few new tracks on this tour “Focus Coin” and “Teroborona”. The floor was pretty stationary but lively until Eugene asked for the guests with energy to come to the front and jumped into “Immigraniada” getting the floor to surge and dance. By the time “Start Wearing Purple” and “Pala Tute” were played everyone was living in the moment and carefree. The current line-up of the band features long-time members Eugene Hütz (singer/guitarist), Sergy Ryabtev (fiddle), Pedor Erazo (percussions), Gill Alexandre (bass), Korey Kingston (drums) and Ashely Tobias (backing vocals).
Setlist: Sacred Darling – Passport – Not A Crime – Immigrant Punk – Wanderlust King – Saboteur Blues – My Companjera – Alcohol – Focus Coin – Teroborona – Through the Roof ‘n’ Underground – TransContinental Hustle – Suddenly… (I Miss Carpaty) – Immigraniada – Mishto! – Start Wearing Purple – Sally – Pala Tute – Scratch the Surface – Victim in Pain – Forces of Victory – Dance Around The Fire – Baro Foro / Undestructable
