Seether back on the road again fresh off the release of their new EP Wasteland: The Purgatory on July 30th. The post grunge band from South Africa career now spans over 22 years and has been the model of consistency. Their raw emotional lyrics laced with an edgy metal background has been the theme for their 8 full studio albums and now a 4 song EP. The current tour is with fellow 90’s juggernaut 3 Doors Down. Seether took the stage first in the scenic Jones beach theater as the sun began to set. They got things ignited with their smash hit “Gasoline.” A vibrant light show pulsed behind as they tore into the set. They slowed things down for a unique version of “Broken” with lead singer Shaun Morgan and Dale Stewart seated with an acoustic guitar. They turned things back up as the band returned with “Country Song.” Shaun welcomed the crowd and admitted he was having a bad hair day with all the heat and humidity! They played a variety of hits as well as “Wasteland” from the new EP. The crowd sang along on their feet with devil horns hands waving in the air. It was great to see live music coming back t life with one of my favorite bands still going strong!
Setlist: Gasoline – Fine Again – Broken – Country Song – Nobody Praying for Me – Rise Above This – Bruised and Bloodied – Wasteland – Let You Down – Dangerous – Fake It – Remedy
