Indie rock icons Modest Mouse are out on tour in support of The Golden Casket their first new album in over six years. Released on June 25, their new work showcases a blend of raw guitar riffs with techno and psychedelic undertones. The Egyptian was packed as August marks the opening of larger venues in Indy as we slowly crawl out the pandemic. Front man Isaac Brock welcomed everyone back as they tore into their set. A colorful light show set the backdrop for the stage. They played 7 songs from the new album, mixed with older material in the impressive 20 song set. The fans were engaged all evening as the band performed flawlessly. No one even seemed to notice they didn’t include their most famous hit “Float On.”
