One of the world’s largest celebrations of local original music, WAMFest presented by Act-Belong-Commit, returns in November for another multi-day feast of non-stop live music. WAM are excited to reveal the programming team-ups and first batch of over one-hundred artists to feature at this year’s festival.
Spanning across two dates, the free-entry festival features a carefully curated line-up of Western Australia’s most exciting, diverse and progressive contemporary original musicians. Showcasing out of venues and outdoor stages in the city hub and Northbridge, the two-day event invites the public and Industry representatives to explore, discover and celebrate the talent born from our West Australian home.
WAMFest is proud to be working alongside city hub venues The Sewing Room, Amplifier, Capitol, Holmes & Co, Wesley Church, Lucy’s Love Shack and Cheeky Sparrow, and Northbridge centered venues The Bird, Nevermind Smallclub, Jack Rabbit Slims, Badlands, Hen House Live, James Street Bar and The Boston. Perth Cultural Centre, State Theatre Courtyard and Northbridge Piazza will play home to outdoor and all-ages stages providing a space for all members of the community.
This year sees a celebration of the many voices contributing to West Australian music, including team-ups with youth and community focused organisations WAM New Noise Collective, music school Rock Scholars, SAE Institute plus hardrock, metal and blues specialist The Rock Pit and underground music promoter and supporter, Alt.
The initial line-up announcement includes Perth heavyweights Ruby Boots, Abbe May, Daybreak, Demon Days, Dulcie, Grace Barbe and Downsyde alongside over 80 other acts. With a focus on showcasing the array of genres that create WA’s thriving music sector, this year’s event features the best of indie rock, hip-hop, country, blues, pop, jazz and more … there truly is something to match everyone’s musical tastes.
WAMCON 2019 FIRST SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED
Returning to it’s home at the State Theatre of Western Australia on the 1st and 2nd November of 2019, WAMCon this year draws focus to issues including diversity, accessibility and sustainable practices featuring talks by some of the rising leaders of the Australian and International industry alongside adored and respected music industry veterans.
Featuring talks by international guests Ground Control Touring (USA) agent Timmy Hefner, Secretly Canadian’s (USA) Bri Aab and Prophecy Records XX (USA) agent Archie Hamilton. These speakers are at the forefront of the most exciting things happening outside of our shores.
Meanwhile hailing from Australia is a plethora of Aussie industry powerhouses including Collective Artist Agency’s founder Bec Young (NSW), Triple j’s assistant music director Gemma Pike (NSW), Publishing know-how specialist Chealsea Gough (Native Tongue, VIC), and New World Artists Agent Liam Saunders (VIC) amongst many other exciting people to know.

The always-packed-out event returns to The Bird for a fully catered luncheon event where you can get to know the agents in attendance, who they work with and decide for yourself what they might be able to do for you!
Radio Pitching
If you’ve never been quite sure of how to get your music on the radio, or wanted the opportunity to get your music straight into the hands of a particular presenter, this is the place to do it. Radio pitching returns featuring the makers of triple j, FBi, RTRFM and more. Plus it’s the perfect opportunity to ask for some expert advice and receive raw, honest feedback about your music.
Music Industry Speed Dating
One of the most popular sessions from WAMCon is back! Speed dating sessions provide ticket holders with direct one-on-one access to industry professionals speaking at WAMCon, featuring guests from booking agencies, record labels, publishing companies, music media, artist managers and more. Gain personalized advice from some of the industry’s biggest movers and shakers.
Quay Note Boat Party
The increasingly popular Quay Note Boat Party presented by Moshtix offers WAMCon earlybird ticket holders the opportunity to mingle with some of the industry’s big-fish, setting sail down the swan river for a sundowner session featuring drinks, nibbles and plenty of entertainment from local artists and DJ’s. It’s the perfect way to kick of a huge WAMCon weekender.
