You can’t go wrong with a band who so succinctly describe their very ouvre in their name: The Jangle Band. Purely distilled, gorgeously harmonic, jangly power pop with a nod to The Beatles & The Byrds and a tip of the cap to The Stems and a wink over the shoulder to… I dunno – every hyper-catchy ultra-jangly mega-cool band ever.
Their debut album landed two whole years ago, so they’re well and truly due a follow-up: this single is a damn fine start.
Both tracks have an iridescent sparkle about them – they may be about breakups, but in both instances they’re happy-to-see-the-back-of-her breakups, all about the relief of escape, the excitement of freedom, and the promise of what is yet to come.
