Peter Sandorff and Jeppe B Jessen released this little gem back in 2009, following it with a 2010 reissue featuring a couple of bonus tracks. My only question is – why has it taken until now to fall into my orbit?
Armed with a vintage Roland 707 drum machine, the twosome combine death punk, ScandoTexMex mariachi rockabilly, and an eye on subject matter that would make The Misfits big fans.
It’s a somewhat demented mix – in the best possible way. The title track, Night Of The Vampire, Alligator Girl, Marguerita, Six Bullets and bonus tracks Ghouls On Film and the superbly B-movie named Cannibal Flesh Riot! are as unique and engaging as Stay Awake’s bizarrely awesome drum machine solo.
