EP REVIEW: ACCIDENTAL PRESIDENT – Jiggery Pokery

Accidental President make a passionate call to “flag bearers and agitators” on this four-track debut EP.

Formed by four like-minded souls disgusted by the state of the world, led by Isy d’Vious, whose revolution clarion-call vocals remind us of Skunk Ananise’s Skin, Accidental President’s sound is hard-edged and raucous, defiantly post-grunge and heavy, and as tight as a bank vault.

The EP’s artwork features their mascot Mr Black, the self-styled “president of Rocktopia,” and the band rail effectively against the profusion of “jiggery pokery” in global politics – that’s ‘deceitful or dishonest behaviour’ to you and me, folks.

Their politics are undeniably powerful and on the money, but it’s the cutting edge tunes and immediately memorable melodies which impress the most.

Thanks for the Killer review! To be compared to Skunk Anansie is one of the BIGGEST and coolest compliments I’ve ever had as a singer/songwriter … Shane Pinnegar from 100% ROCK Magazine totally gets it! \m/
