Rhino Bucket, fronted by Georg Dolivo, were always amongst the best US bands to have taken the famous Alberts Studios Sound to heart – their self titled debut and follow-up Get Used To It remain favourites from the early 1990’s.

Equally beholden to early AC/DC and The Angels (with whom they toured in the ‘90s), their sound is all crunchy riffs, searing solos, and Dolivo’s neat blend of Doc Neeson’s unique inflection and Bon Scott’s cheeky half-slur.

The anthemic Everything You Do and So Long could both have slotted into The Angels’ [aka Angel City] Beyond Salvation album, while Angela Muhwezi’s backing vocals lift Last Call above the bog standard ‘let’s pound booze’ pub rocker it could have been.

Dolivo is joined by Kix guitarist Brian ‘Damage’ Forsythe, original bassist Reeve Downes and hotshot drummer Dave DuCey, and enlists the admirable talents of Supersuckers head honcho Eddie Spaghetti to produce this effort, The Bucket’s first since 2007.

It adds up to a hugely enjoyable album of hard drinking, no fucks given, rock n’ roll. Rhino Bucket just have to tap into some more insightful/clever lyrics along the lines of Swing And A Miss and they’ll have another bonafide classic on their hands to match those first two records.
