Black Dog Howl have just released their new single & video clip Blackheart
Danish/Iranian Southern-Gothic-duo (Signe Møller Rosendal & Mazdak Khosravi) Black Dog Howl released their single Blackheart this month. The song is the first single from their debut-album Psalm which will be out in the late [European] summer of 2017.
The song reflects the duo’s love for artists such as Nick Cave and P.J. Harvey, and deals with lead singer Mazdak Khosravi’s desperate search for deliverance.
The Sacrament of a Repenting Murderer – “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” – Luke 5:32
The video accompanying Blackheart, tells the story of how the song’s narrator haunts one of his victims – and how he himself ends up being haunted by the memories of what he has done to her.
The video is directed by the Canadian filmmaker Kristopher Paterson in close collaboration with Danish cinematographer Uffe Mulvad. Together, the two have merged elements of 70’s exploitation film with classic Hitchcock’esque horror.
