BETH ORTON ADDS PERTH DATE TO AUSTRALIAN TOUR THIS JUNE

English Brit Award winning singer-songwriter Beth Orton today announces that she will start her national Australian tour next month, with a newly announced Perth show. Orton will kick off her run at the Rosemount Hotel on Wednesday 7th June. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow at 9am local time.

For the first time since her 2013 Heavenly Sounds tour, the acclaimed folktronica artist will visit cities around the country, playing shows at Melbourne’s The Croxton Bandroom on Friday 9th June, a sold out show at Meeniyan Town Hall in Victoria on Saturday 10th June, Canberra Theatre Centre on Friday 16th June and The Triffid in Brisbane on Sunday 18th June. In addition, Orton will perform at the Sydney Opera House as part of the annual Vivid Live festival.

Consequence Of Sound wrote of Orton’s “… intensely heartfelt vocals and ever assured guitar…” at a recent London show, continuing that “Orton’s vocal at times recalled the melisma of Joni Mitchell and the purity of Sandy Denny”.

Orton will perform with a full band for the first time in Australia in many years playing songs spanning her celebrated career from Trailer Park, Central Reservation, Daybreaker, Comfort of Strangers and Sugaring Season through to her 2016 album Kidsticks, which was was co-written and co-produced in LA with Fuck Buttons’ Andrew Hung.
