There’s few things we love more than hearing someone rearranging a classic rock song in a completely reworked form – it’s testament to the quality of the original songwriting, and shows vision, talent & moxy for not just copying a favourite practically note for note.

After last year’s excellent debut album, Lose Your Mind, we would expect nothing less than uniqueness from New Jersey’s Madysin Hatter (Larissa Burgoyne to her Mum), and her pared back to the essence vocal and acoustic guitar version of Aerosmith’s classic Nobody’s Fault is simple stunning.

Hatter’s vocals are beguiling and at times ethereal, while Rob Bailey’s delicate guitar picking is beautifully complementary.

As precious and gentle as any of Heart’s early acoustic folk leanings, this isn’t what we were expecting from rocker Hatter, and that makes it all the more essential. An artist dancing to the beat of her own drum, Madysin Hatter has done the near-impossible here: improved on the original track.
