Venue: The Mill And Mine

City: Knoxville, TN

Date: March 9, 2017

Review and Photographs by: Jeffrey Everett

Riding the wave of success, The Head and the Heart sold out The Mill and Mine weeks in advance. The indie rock band from Seattle are out on a busy tour which includes Coachella, Hangout and Bonnaroo in support of their 3rd studio release release Signs of Light. Their set had a cozy, living room feel with plants and end tables.  They got right into it with “All We Ever Knew” which captivated the large crowd from the onset. For a Thursday night it was a spirited crowd and seemed much more like a weekend. There were young and old present reflecting the band’s widespread appeal.  A disco ball spruced things up during “Lets Be Still” making even more of a party atmosphere.  After playing a mix of songs from all their albums, they took a short break while fans screamed for more. The Head and the Heart returned for 3 more encore songs ending with the wildly popular “River and Roads.”
