Los Bastardos Finlandeses - Bad MF Ball

Featuring a couple of ex-Leningrad Cowboys in drummer Teijo Twist Twist Erkinharju (calling himself El Grande Bastardo here) and guitarist Ben Granfelt (El Gringo), Los Bastardos Finlandeses is a million miles removed from the madcap music hall rock of that band, The Finlandeses play seriously rocking road music for the wild ones.

With El Taff Bastardo’s Lemmy-ish rasp and give-no-fucks attitude, Los Bastardos Finlandeses wear their Texan road blues, menacing biker-cowboy-bastard cred with pride, and cram more riffs, hooks and harmonies into their tunes than a Motorhead-Black Label Society-Beatles-ZZ Top celebrity jam session.

Without a dud moment from start to finish, Bad Motherfucker’s Ball is simply a great album and it’s hard to think what they could have done to make it better. Every track rocks and rolls, from the title track opener, through ultra-catchy Up On Bricks and Road Fever, Silk & Shake (Marry Ann), the ZZ-burn of Entertainment Don’t Come Cheap, the Motorhead-reverential Scrapyard, and the whole package culminates in an enormously enjoyable rip n’ tear through Lemmy’s Hawkwind underground classic Silver Machine.

Essential for all discerning rock n’ rollers.
