The Bible makes scant reference to the Baby Jesus’ musical tastes, so we can only speculate whether he’d have been a fan of dirty, scuzzed-out, grease-stained Danish psych-garage lunacy.
All ten tracks on this raucous slab of strangeness sound like rats on bad acid having a knife fight in the midst of a psych ward riot, or – to put it (slightly) more musically – Radio Birdman providing the soundtrack to a bloody zombie massacre.
That it is so completely unnaturally frenzied is probably why it is so utterly compelling, with distorted and malevolent vocals skulking over a pulsating organ and a tambourine-heavy groove.
That is Baby Jesus in a nutshell: quite possibly God’s eldest’s favourite band.
