Another release from Lions Pride Music is the EP from Rodrigo Marenna, who has dubbed his solo project Marenna. This ambitious EP includes an acoustic version of one track while featuring a karaoke version of another. Throw in a three videos and you have bang for your buck. “You Need To Believe” kicks the disc off and features great vocals alongside guitar riffs and solos. The guitar work supports the melody of the track well and the rhythm section keeps the tempo moving along. The acoustic version of this track stands out and demonstrates the beauty in the vocals and lyrics. “Like An Angel” is a great slice of melodic rock. The guitars and keyboards swirl in the opening, while the vocals jump into the fray solidifying the strength of the track. The drums are prominent in the mix, but not overbearing. If you feel the need to rock this track out yourself, check out the karaoke version. “Keep On Dreaming” has riffs that combine with the bass and drums to create a great rock sound that is enhanced when the keyboards and vocals join in. This is one of the best tracks on the disc, with the vocals soaring through the chorus and verses. The guitar work on this track stands out, whether it is the chugging riffs, the killer solos, or the noodling, pings, and squeals that drop in the background at times. “Life Goes On” brings a heavier bottom end to the disc and gives the bass and drums a bit of room to run, while keeping the vocals afloat and the guitars prominent in the mix.
