NEWS: World Renowned Drummers Launch 180 DRUMS, An Online Drum Lesson Experience

New online drum tutorial website, 180 DRUMS (www.180drums.com), is connecting aspiring drummers of all skill levels with many top professional drummers in the music industry today. With more than 4,500 minutes of video lessons available now and new pro-drummers arriving to record lessons in their studio each week, 180 DRUMS is poised to become a leading resource internationally for drummers wishing to improve and expand their musical skills.

Aaron Gillespie (Paramore, Underøath, The Almost), Luke Holland (The Word Alive), Garrett Goodwin (Carrie Underwood), Steve Augustine (Thousand Foot Krutch), Adrian Bent (Drake, Jay Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne), Nate Robinson (Lecrae), Jake Nicolle (Elevation Worship), Brian Haley (TobyMac), Ben Satterlee (Nashville studio drummer) and Marcus Finnie (Lady Antebellum, Kirk Whalum) are just a few of the modern-day drummers that are both instructing and demonstrating their techniques now at 180 DRUMS.

“After more than two years of planning and one year of non-stop filming, we couldn’t be more proud and excited to have the opportunity of becoming your online drum teacher,” says Steve Augustine, who founded 180 DRUMS along with Jake Nicolle. “We’ve rounded up some of our favorite drummers for the launch and have many more drummers booked to take the #180Seat.”

In addition to the lessons on the site, there are interviews, comments and practice videos with some of music fans’ favorite drummers, like this one from Aaron Gillespie at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOG60aKk0rc. Members can also create Favorite and Watch Later lists, as well as track their progress through a points and rewards system that includes specialized badges for their personal profile on the site. 180 DRUMS further provides an opportunity for members to share their own insights, recommendations and audio-visual recordings with other members, creating a community of drummers who can learn from one another.

“180 DRUMS offers aspiring drummers a way to learn directly from the pros,” says Nicolle. “Even if you have never played drums before, we can help you build great habits from the get-go! In our Fresh Sticks (beginner) category, we explain how to hold the sticks, set up your drums, play your first beats and drum fills, and how to read drum music. It’s easier than you think. You’ll be waking up the neighborhood in no time!”

Interested drummers can receive a free lesson now from Luke Holland on the site. “With more than a quarter of a million subscribers on Youtube, Holland has been making a serious statement with his drum covers and band, The Word Alive,” says Augustine. “He’s more than just an internet sensation.  He’s the real deal, and you can expect to see him take drumming to new heights.”

The cost to get started at 180 DRUMS is $19.95 USD/Month, or $180 annually. The online platform is available to anyone in the world who has access to the internet and a computer, iPhone, Android, tablet or laptop. “We’re ready to teach you drums anywhere, anytime,” says Nicolle.
