Sydney’s The Art’s new single is at first a solid example of new indie rock: a decent melody, ‘90s indie riffs, pop punk attitude – nothing world-beating, but all tied up neatly in a little package that politely suggests radio play would be a good idea.

Investing a few more listens, though, and the melodies begin to beguile, the him & her vocals of guitarist Azaria Byrne and bassist Kara Jayne dance enticingly, and the investment pays off: killer track.

We’ll eagerly await to see what they do next.
