Led Zeppelin - Remasters 2 cover

Jimmy Page finally got round to remastering the rest of Led Zeppelin’s studio work after releasing two thirds of it on the 1990 Remasters Box Set, and although this is called Box Set #2, it’s really just a double CD with the remainder of the tracks on it. (And a fancy booklet, but no actual box)

Just as he had with the 1990 four-disc set, this release gets every track sounding ace next to each other, and they’re a joy to listen to. One surprising thing I found was, having listened to the original albums so many times you subconsciously anticipate what you’ll be hearing next – so when released in a different running order, you’re almost thrown a curve ball and a bit confused, but it’s a pleasure rather than a pain to let it happen.

Once again half a point shaved off for the sheer belligerence of not releasing the whole lot in 1990 as one package! (Which isn’t really fair, but I am the only deity in these parts…)
