If anyone needs reminding of the unbelievable Australian music that defined the 70s, 80s and 90s, then the next an evening on the green at Kings Park & Botanic Garden is the place to be.

Twelve of that era’s most popular artists are set to join for a unique concert presented by mix94.5 with more than four hours of classic hits and memories. The day will be a joyous, fun-filled celebration of the soundtrack of a generation!

Taking the stage at Kings Park on Saturday November 8 will be: Moving Pictures, John Paul Young, 1927, Rose Tattoo, Swanee, Wendy Matthews, Choirboy’s Mark Gable, Wa Wa Nee, Mi-Sex, Pseudo Echo, Machinations and GANGgajang.

These 12 artists were part of a golden era of Australian music. Who can ever forget ‘What About Me’ (Moving Pictures), ‘Love Is In The Air (JPY), ‘That’s When I Think Of You’ (1927), ‘Bad Boy For Love’ (Rose Tattoo), ‘If I Were A Carpenter’ (Swanee), ‘The Day You Went Away’ (Wendy Matthews), ‘Run To Paradise’ (Choirboys), ‘Stimulation’ (Wa Wa Nee), ‘Computer Game’ (Mi-Sex), ‘Funkytown’ (Pseudo Echo), ‘Pressure Sway’ (Machinations) and ‘Sounds Of Then – This Is Australia’ (GANGgajang), to name but a few!!

Many of the artists will share a crack backing band to enable the music to keep on coming all day, and with 44 unforgettable chart-topping hits, we’re expecting some sensational crowd sing-a-longs!

1927’s Eric Weideman said: “It’s been really satisfying for us that our songs have stood the test of time and still bring enjoyment to so many people. There are some incredible artists and incredible songs that will be a part of this a day on the green. It’s going to be a real celebration of a fantastic period of Australian music.”

Moving Pictures vocalist Alex Smith concurs: “I can’t tell you all how excited I am to be back, not just with Moving Pictures but to be sharing the stage again with some of the Icons of Australian Rock. Some high times and laughter are on the cards. See you there!”
