Right now on the other side of the globe Dune Rats are making their presence known in small towns and big cities – winning people over with their tunes and their demeanours, wreaking havoc on excretory systems that are not just their own. By the laws of physics they should not be able to make it from bed to the shitter yet somehow there they are. Despite missing a plane in Capetown because Danny was feeding hungry taxi drivers, despite commandeering a tiny pub (in which BC could not stand to his full height) in the small country town of Flamstead run by the self claimed ‘town’s only Gay man’ where they were joined by the entire town and together solved the mysteries of the world, despite having coconuts thrown at them from a third story window in Liverpool by a lovely woman concerned about their dietary intake and despite losing a passport the night before ferrying from Liverpool to Dublin causing a full strip search to ensue of motorhome and all it’s inhabitants – despite all this, and so much more, (this in just 3 days), Dune Rats never miss a show – not in the UK, in Oz, South Africa, not in Asia nor the States. Dune Rats bums are dipped in honey.

So how did things get so sweet? It’s a combination of factors: DNA, positive mental attitude, a good (and extremely fragile) manager and a profound understanding of the ancient wisdom that states
‘Ratbaggery Requires Comradery’.

With this wisdom in mind, Dune Rats announce those bravely joining them on the Australian leg of their quest. A quest that is as old as man himself – to play music and fuck shit up.

Good-natured lads with a penchant for genre adjectives THE BENNIES will be setting the party scene for Dune Rats’ under 18 contigency in Melbs with their self-proclaimed punk ska psychedelic doom metal punk rock and taking it to The Corner too!

Ballarat locals BEL AIR will be bringing their mind-blowingly sonorous vocals, edgy interwoven guitar hooks and oh-so-spacy synth , along with the skillfully composed romantic pop of the enigmatic NEW GODS.

Experimental pop group, SHINING BIRD, will be taking flight from the sleepy town of Austinmer on the NSW south coast of Australia, to the Oxford Arts Factory. Sydney locals THE WALKING WHO will bend a few brains with their psychedelic rock and roll, and bringing their explosive vocals and a touch of boogie woogie THE KNITS!

A trio of teen Aussie rapscallions that have been squeezing out some tasty tunes since gestation, LUNATICS ON POGOSTICKS will haul into the Lair their delicious lo-fi, garage-pop-noise.

SEALEGS will woo punters with their mash up of well crafted indie pop hooks and eclectic rock n roll. Lock up your daughters, DEAD BEAT BAND bring their hippy shakin’ flower punk. pop, noise, love, rock n roll, ballads to both The Zoo and the U18 Alhambra Lounge show and local duo SCRAPES will crank the feedback drenched guitar and scraping, epic violin with their apocalyptic folk fiasco.

If you’re keen as to take the stage supporting Dune Rats, you’re currently in high school, you live in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane and you’re keen to see if this rock n roll caper is really for you then:
