Tempt released a special limited edition EP in honor of their appearance at the annual Rocklahoma music festival. Disc opener “Under My Skin” is everything that was good about 80’s hair metal wrapped into one little 3-1/2 minute package. The guitars are chugging and riffy, the bass and drums heavy, and the vocals (lead and background) full. The 80’s metal fun and fury continues on the next track, “Use It Or Lose It.” The gang vocals really add some depth and balls to the chorus, while the bridge is all guitar solo goodness. “The Fight” has a chorus that is eerily like another track, but based on the liner notes, we won’t draw that comparison. The guitars are fun, just like the previous tracks, and the vocals help hold this song together with the other tracks to forma cohesive EP. Disc closer “Time Won’t Heal” is the bands shot at a ballad, which they pull off nicely. The vocals play against the guitars, while the rhythm section nicely anchors the track helps keep the rock edge in place. These guys are on their way up – all we can do is grab a hold and tag along for the ride!
