There is usually a backlog of CDs that need to be reviewed that keep me from lending a lot of time to a greatest hits package or career retrospective, but in the case of the recent release from Hellion, I want to make an exception, as I believe the earlier releases not given the appropriate amount of attention.  Ann Boleyn’s latest release takes from her history and builds on her future.  Listen to this collection from beginning to end, and you will see that not only has Ann and the bunch of rock n rollers she has shared the stage and studio with through the years recorded music that represented a specific point in time for the band, but has stood the test of time and remains relevant in the world of metal circa 2014.  This is more evident as the last track blares through the speakers.  “Hell Has No Fury” is a metal gem that demonstrates that Ann’s dedication to rock and metal has not waivered in her more than 30 years in metal.  The song writing is strong, the musicianship is solid, and her vocals stronger than ever.  If this is any indicator, I cannot wait to hear the other four tracks that will accompany this song on another EP package to be releases later this year, Karma’s A Bitch.

Sit back and enjoy the following classics ripped from the band discography when you drop this two-disc set into your player.

From Hellion (1983): Backstabber – Driving Hard – Don’t Take No For An Answer – Break The Spell – Up From The Depths

From various demos: Run For Your Life – Get Ready – Witching Hour

From Screams In The Night (1987): Screams In The Night – The Hand – Bad Attitude – Tower Of Air

From Postcards From The Asylum (1988): Nevermore – Exciter – The Evil One

From The Black Book (1990): Breakdown – The Black Book – Living In Hell – Stormrider – Demon Attack

From Will Not Go Quietly (2003): Resurrection/Will Not Go Quietly – Shit (Is Gonna Hit The Fan) – Dead And Gone – Dream Deceiver

From Karma Is A Bitch (2014): Hell Has No Fury
