Listening back to the original vinyl pressing of this ground breaking album for the Aussie giant killers, the number one question seems to be: ‘Has any other band been so perfectly poised for world domination as INXS at the release of this album?’

Take a look at the track list – there’s half of a Greatest Hits album, right there: Guns In The Sky, New Sensation, Devil Inside, Need You Tonight, Mediate, The Loved One, Never Tear Us Apart, Mystify. They all perfectly marry guitar rock and chart pop with that indefinable je ne sais quoi that their Ace Card Michael Hutchence had in spades.

Best bits: All the above. They never made another album so coherent and relevant and damn-near perfect.
