Pure, unadulterated four- and six-string pornography, this lavish collection takes in not only the Gibsons, Strats and Flying V’s that we are so familiar with, but on any given page there may be a rarer treasure such as the Ovation Breadwinner, a Bartolini or Burns Baritone, a Chapman Stick or a Collings Mandolin.
They’re all photographed lovingly, with interesting background notes, examples of their high profile players, and in many cases photographs of the axes in action.
It adds up to an absolute treat of a coffee table book for the guitar player and those of us who find the instrument gorgeous, even if we can’t make beautiful music from it.
Some other stuff you might dig
