Legendary producer Chris Tsangarides critically ill

Chris Tsangarides, the Grammy nominated British record producer, sound engineer, and mixer, is critically ill in hospital with Legionnaire’s Disease.

Tsangarides has produced such luminaries as Judas Priest, Anvil, Tom Jones, Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, Depeche Mode, Helloween, Marillion, Concrete Blonde, Yngwie Malmsteen, SPiT LiKE THiS, and … errr… Samantha Fox.

Legionnaires disease is a serious lung infection caused by legionella bacteria. Initial symptoms include a high fever, muscle pain and chills.

Theo Tsangarides, Chris’ son, stated on The Dark Lord’s Facebook page:

“For those of you that don’t know, My dad Chris Tsangarides remains critically ill in hospital with Legionnaire’s Disease. Thanks for all the support he’s had so far, it’s been really comforting to know so many people are behind him. Go on Dad, keep fighting.”

Chris’ wife Jane followed up Theo’s post, stating, “Hello everyone this is Jane Tsangarides. I wanted to let you know that Chris is still with us. He is still desperately ill and he may well be so for a very long time but we do have a glimmer of hope.

“We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support and love coming our way. Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart.”
