Experimental rock group STOLEN BABIES, who have been swiftly taking over the experimental and alternative rock and metal underground in the past few years, are pleased to be teaming up with Vice’s Noisey channel to unveil their eerie, yet beautifully mesmerizing new music video for the track ‘Second Sleep’. The video is directed by Ilan Sharone, well-known video director and brother of Rani and Gil, with visual FX and animation by Meats Meier. The track is cut from the band’s most recent full-length release, entitled Naught. The album is available at your local music retailer and through iTunes, Amazon and all other standard digital retailers.

“We wanted the video to feel dream-like and echo the vibe of the song. Something is always a little off but not in a way you can put your finger on,” states vocalist Dominique Lenore Persi. “When we’re underwater everything is more of a struggle, which adds to the feeling of being unable to control the situation. The video is directed by Ilan Sharone, with visual FX and animation by Meats Meier who has done vfx for Puscifer, TOOL and Roger Waters.”

Bonus: the new video can be seen as of now on TV’s in Hot Topic stores across the country! Keep an eye (and perhaps an ear) out while you shop!

STOLEN BABIES will be performing select dates this summer in their home state of California. On July 5th, the band will be performing their first Bay Area show in some time at The New Parish in Oakland, CA. The show will also feature miRthkon, and Free Salamander Exhibit(featuring members of the now closed Sleepytime Gorilla Museum). The band will perform a month later in West Hollywood, CA at The Roxy as part of Hollywood’s annual Sunset Strip Music Festival. See below for both dates.

The members of STOLEN BABIES have been busy this year!

It was recently announced by Maynard James Keenan’s (ToolA Perfect Circle) side project, Puscifer, that the band’s new remix album features a track remixed by STOLEN BABIES bassist Rani Sharone. Better yet, the track features all of STOLEN BABIES performing on it! Check out a write-up of the new record here, with Rani Sharone credited. A funny side note: the dog on the cover of the new Puscifer remix album is owned by Rani, as well.

Rani, who is also recognized in many circles as a respected music composer, recently had a piece of his performed at the Disney Concert Hall by virtuoso violinist Hilary Hahn. The piece was personally-written for Hilary, and was selected as the runner up in her Encore contest out of hundreds of submissions from around the world.

World-renowned drummer Gil Sharone recently won the #2 Alternative Drummer spot in Modern Drummer Magazine’s fan polls. Also, Gil Sharone recently filmed a new video for one of his endorsement companies, DW Drums. As a featured guest artist, Gil takes a stroll through DW’s amazing showroom, Candyland 4, and plays every drumset in the room to show the wide range of drums they have. The video is coming soon, check out a screenshot below!
