Serena Ryder’s “Stompa” Hits #1 While Featured in Cadillac Commerical

LOS ANGELES, CA —Serena Ryder is bringing her music to the U.S. with the release of her new album, Harmony, on July 16, 2013 via Capitol Records. The soulful pop-rock collection erupts with infectious tracks, illustrated by debut single, “Stompa,” which quickly climbed to the #1 spot on the AAA Chart this week at both MediaBase and BDS. In addition, the tune can be heard as the backdrop for the new Cadillac SRX commercial, infiltrating airwaves now.

“Stompa,” has been one of the fastest rising singles of Ryder’s career.  “It’s about how magic music is,” the Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter says of the song. “How music is one of the most powerful medicines in the world.”

Ryder’s fanbase is quickly increasing and includes Idolator that noted: “Stompa” flaunts Serena’s powerful and soulful voice… above a rollicking beat: ‘Gotta get up, listen to me/Clappa your hands, stompa your feet,’ she confidently commands.”

“Grey’s Anatomy” has become synonymous with discovering and exposing burgeoning talent and they wasted no time with Ryder. The show featured both “Stompa” and “What I Wouldn’t Do” in scenes this season currently on air. Meanwhile, VH1 has crowned Ryder as their “You Oughta Know” artist for the month of June, where she will join an esteemed list of artists including Jessie Ware, Gary Clark Jr., Gotye, and The Lumineers, to name just a few.

Just last week, Ryder nabbed yet another Juno Award in her northern homeland, Canada. While she is no stranger there, her undeniable pop songs are quickly gaining ground in the U.S. She is slated to perform two anticipated shows in the coming weeks: May 6 at Bowery Ballroom in NYC and May 13 at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Ryder will return for more touring later this summer in conjunction with her album release.
