KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Monday, April 22, 2013) — Country music powerhouse Tate Stevens took the stage in Kansas City, Mo. last night to perform for a sold out crowd at Midland by AMC just two days before his major label self-titled debut hits shelves. The 3,000 capacity crowd raucously welcomed their hometown hero who dominated headlines after winning FOX’s The X Factor last December. Backed by his five-piece band, Stevens’ 75-minute set included his current single, “Power Of A Love Song,” “Can’t Get Nothin’ Done,” as well as “I Got This” from Tate Stevens.

In an emotionally charged moment, Stevens invited his wife, Ashlie, and his two children, son Hayden and daughter Rylie, to the stage to acknowledge how much his life has changed since they signed him up to audition for The X Factor just over one year ago. Stevens thanked them profusely before presenting Ashlie with flowers.

FOX’s Eric Burke proclaimed, “I knew he was good, but this is the best concert I’ve been to.”

The Kansas City Star’s Timothy Finn observed, “Stevens advised the crowd that he would be singing a lot of material no one had heard yet, but most of the songs from his album were well-received — and for good reason. The album is a collection of radio-friendly ballads, country-rock anthems, country-pop tunes and honky-tonk songs that evokes the sounds and styles of several established country stars: Toby Keith, Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean.” Finn added, “Stevens may be a newcomer in the country-music big leagues, but he is a seasoned performer, having played with several country bands for years before auditioning for The X Factor in May 2012. He and his five-piece band kept the energy levels high all night.”

KBEQ’s Mike Kennedy also raved, “Tate is seasoned, he’s got an authentic delivery and personality and he can sing for real.”

Following the concert, Stevens stayed over two hours to personally greet and sign autographs for over a thousand fans. The Midland by AMC general manager, Larry Hovick, shared, “That was the longest autograph line for any show we’ve ever had at The Midland and that’s in almost five years of operating. It went very well and the fans were very happy.”

It’s been a whirlwind for Stevens since winning The X Factor title and later today the City of Belton will honor Stevens with the appropriate “Living the Dream” water tower dedication. Stevens will attend the dedication before heading to New York for performances in support of the album release. Additionally, Stevens will perform “Power Of A Love Song” on ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday, April 26 before a tour stop that evening in Atlanta, Ga. with Alan Jackson.
