April 23rd, 2013 – New York, NY – Amos Lee has been recording his new album with producer Jay Joyce (Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Eric Church, Cage the Elephant) in Nashville.  Amos is the first artist to record in the new studio Jay built in a church in East Nashville.  See studio photo above.

Amos’ previous record Mission Bell debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums and Billboard Rock Albums charts when it was released in January 2011, earning the Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter the highest chart position and best sales week of his career. Earning critical raves from scores of media outlets, the album also spawned the Triple A radio hit “Windows Are Rolled Down,” which gave him his first-ever No. 1 single.

Amos is also a friend to Farm Aidthe non-profit organization that works to keep family farmers on the land. Amos will perform at the charity’s fundraising event at Haven’s Kitchen in New York City on April 24th. The event will celebrate family farmers and honor Steve Ells who is the founder, Co-CEO and Chairman of Chipotle Mexican Grill. Ells founded Chipotle in 1993, and under his direction, committed the restaurant to serve only naturally raised meat, to provide new market opportunities for family farmers, and to promote sustainable agriculture.   Haven’s Kitchen Executive Chef David Mawhinney will craft a seasonal, ingredient-driven menu that utilizes the best of what New York’s family farms have to offer.

Amos made his Farm Aid debut at the 25th Farm Aid anniversary concert in 2010. Willie Nelson, Farm Aid’s founder and president, has said, “Great songwriters don’t come around that often. Amos is an exceptional artist, a true story teller, unique to his generation.”
