Caroline’s 1st Annual SXSW BBQ a monsterous success
New York, New York, March 22nd 2013 – Caroline’s 1st Annual SXSW BBQ was an enormous success, held on a sunny afternoon at the private Caroline house, situated in a gorgeous south Austin location that provided a much needed get away from the madness of downtown SXSW. The invite-only event created a great space to network, enjoy great food, good music, excellent company and served as a fantastic unofficial kick-off to SXSW. The event brought out the likes of Caroline label partners; Carved Records, Hidden Pony, Harbour Records, Hopeless Records, Top Shelf records, Bridge Nine, Tru Thoughts, Welk and Vanguard amongst others.
With an endless stream of delicious food and drinks courtesy of Patron, Heineken, Red Bull and Salt Lick BBQ, Caroline’s guests enjoyed specially crafted Caroline Patron cocktails and Patron infused ice cream sandwiches, whilst titled sponsor Ultimate Ears supplied the audible treats and Rob Luis of Tru Thoughts shaped an incredible soundtrack to the day with an amazing DJ set.
Enjoying the vibes was none other than Caroline artist, Talib Kweli, who rolled through early and chatted about his eagerly anticipated new album Prisoner Of Conscious -which will be released in May. Former Live lead singer Ed Kowalcyzk was in attendance and talking up label mates Dallas’ Sleeperstar and their catchy first single “Replay”. Our pals at the hardcore/punk rock label Bridge Nine stopped by to celebrate their 10 year partnership with Caroline, while their partners at Top Shelf records were buzzing about their break out act Diamond Youth. Hidden Pony’s Rah Rah and Said The Whale made an appearance andSaid The Whale previewed their instant classic upcoming single “I Love You”. Alternative Press’ “Band to Watch” Air Dubai dropped in with the folks from Hopeless Records to celebrate their recent adds and spins on KTCL, SiriusXM’s “20 on 20”, XMu, KROQ and 91X for the single “Warning”. Carved Records joined in on the fun with Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, who came down to Texas, fresh off a tour with Rival Sons, in support of their debut album Wild Child.
