Young The Giant’s “My Body” And “Cough Syrup” Certified Gold!

NEW YORK, NY (January 14, 2013) – Break out artist, Young The Giant officially has two gold records to celebrate.  “My Body” and “Cough Syrup” have gone gold in the United States while “My Body” has gone platinum and “Cough Syrup” gold in Canada. Their first single, “My Body,” peaked at #4 on the alternative chart while their second single, “Cough Syrup,” reached #2 on the alternative chart.

Young The Giant is currently hard at work on new music for their forthcoming album due later this year.

To date, the band has received innumerable “Band To Watch” accolades from outlets like The New York Times, Spin and Nylon to name a few, and were selected by MTV to perform “My Body” at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Young The Giant has also made their way around the TV circuit performing on the Today ShowThe Tonight Show With Jay LenoJimmy Kimmel Live!Last Call With Carson Daly and MTV Unplugged among others.  Their hit single “Cough Syrup” was also featured in the opening scene of the winter finale of GLEE on FOX.

Young The Giant have built a massively successful touring presence, traveling the globe, headlining sold out shows and performing on the main stages at renowned festivals including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo to name a few.  They capped off 2012 headlining 70 dates, selling over 100,000 tickets combined with most shows selling out months in advance including two nights at The Wiltern in LA, two nights at Stubbs in Austin and 9,000 tickets sold at Pacific Amphitheatre in Orange County, CA.
