Gabriel The Marine Signs To Sun Pedal Recordings ; New EP Coming This Fall and Touring With Taking Back Sunday

| 7 September 2012 | Reply

(New York, NY) –  Long Island’s own Gabriel The Marine have signed a new worldwide deal with Sun Pedal Recordings.  The New York indie rock/pop band will release a four-song EP this Fall to give fans a slice of what’s to come. Gabriel The Marine will join Taking Back Sunday and Bayside for a series of Fall dates (see dates below) with plans for more touring in support of the new release.  Fans can also expect the EP to be followed by a debut full length album for the first half of 2013.

Tommy LaCombe, owner Sun Pedal Recordings comments, “We’re more than excited and honored to have Gabriel The Marine join our label and become an integral part of our vision for the music industry.”
Gabriel The Marine front man Mike Desmond comments, “We are excited to announce that we have found a home for our music with Sun Pedal Recordings. It feels good to be a part of something so new, and we’re looking forward to the future of  Gabriel The Marine as well as Sun Pedal Recordings.”
Formed in 2008, Gabriel The Marine is a violin-infused indie rock/pop quintet from Long Island, NY with a sound all their own.  After two critically acclaimed self-released EPs, the band will release a new EP this Fall on Sun Pedal followed by their debut full length studio album in 2013.  They are currently at work on music with accomplished producer Jim Wirt (Fiona Apple, Jack’s Mannequin, Incubus).  The new studio album will be supported by extensive touring that will stretch well into 2013.  Gabriel The Marine has played the Bamboozle festival twice and have toured with such artists and bands as John Nolan, Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, Jacks Mannequin, Mae, Anberlin, and the Dear Hunter.
The group has received high praise from Spin Magazine as a band to watch adding “this quintet stands out. They eschew bratty pop-punk and cheesy emo-pop for a violin-laced sound that wraps around a conceptual, continuous narrative of a character called Gabriel. Think the Decemberists meet Jimmy Eat World.” AbsolutePunk raved “Post-emo orchestral rock that’s rife with tenderness, passion and grit. Phenomenal. Gabriel The Marine is most assuredly a band to watch out for in the years to come.”
Gabriel The Marine is Michael Desmond on Vocals/Guitar, Dylan Ebrahimian on Violin/Piano/Vocals, Dominick D’Agostino on Guitar, Thomas Costa on Bass and Thomas Davis on Drums.  The band is managed by Strong Management.
Gabriel The Marine is the latest addition to independent label Sun Pedal Recordings. The label was formed by Tommy LaCombe, Owner of Tragic Hero Records to expand his music offerings into the singer songwriter and alternative rock and indie music genres. Tragic Hero Records is responsible for launching the careers of such alternative mainstays as  Alesana, A Skylit Drive, Letlive. and Confide; while providing a label home for  such fan favorite acts as: He Is Legend, The Morning Of,  and Greeley Estates.   Sun Pedal Recordings recently issued its first release, Listening, from singer songwriter Ben Taylor.
