Vince Staples (US) announces Cry Baby Australian headline shows

Recently announced as one of the headline artists of the now sold out Beyond The Valley festival, US music heavyweight Vince Staples will return to Australia in January 2027 for a run of solo headline shows. Presented by Untitled Group and Beyond The Valley, Staples will bring his Cry Baby Tour to Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

One of the most revered voices of his generation, Vince Staples is a celebrated multi-hyphenate making his mark across TV, film and contemporary culture, though music remains where he most naturally pushes boundaries as an artist, storyteller and creative force.

Following a string of acclaimed introspective projects, Ramona Park (a melancholic tribute to his hometown) and Dark Times (deeper, more personal themes), Cry Baby marks a more outward-facing artistic statement and piece of social commentary, and sets the tone for this run of Australian dates.

The album was preceded by a run of stunning and thought-provoking visuals, with iconography and themes carrying from one to the next. Despite the deeply embedded themes present in the clips for “Blackberry Marmalade,” “White Flag,” and “Cotton,” each was delivered without comment, giving them space to speak for themselves.

Beyond the lyrics and subject matter, Cry Baby signals a bold musical and sonic shift as well. Staples built each track around live instrumentation, underscoring the album’s immediacy and urgency. The result is a dynamic, confrontational body of work that captures the tension, absurdity, and emotional weight of America – an album that doesn’t just document the times and its precedents, but actively wrestles with them.

These headline shows mark his first in Australia since 2018, and will give fans the chance to catch Staples commanding each venue, following his upcoming sold-out appearance at Beyond The Valley.
