“Hello cruel world / I’m not going away / So I might as well have my say,” sings Joe Jackson on his new album “Hope and Fury”. And there’s no doubt that at a moment when many of his contemporaries have lost their passion, their talent, their voices or even their lives, Jackson continues to go from strength to strength. “Hope and Fury” continues his rich musical tapestry, delivering a masterful blend of provoking reinvention alongside a haven of familiarity, resulting in one of his strongest albums yet.
Since bursting onto the scene at the turn of the 1980s, Jackson has built one of the most distinctive catalogues in popular music, scoring chart success with many classics such as “Is She Really Going Out with Him?”, “Steppin’ Out”, “Real Men”, among a comprehensive collection of acclaimed albums that have surprised and delighted throughout his career. A restless and inventive performer, Jackson remains one of the great live acts of his generation – a witty, sharp-tongued bandleader equally at home behind the piano as he is fronting a full band, and an artist whose catalogue spans new wave, rock, jazz, classical and pop without ever losing its distinctly English wit.
Joe Jackson began his current world tour in May 2026, starting in the United States and Canada, receiving acclaim from fans and critics alike. Fans can expect a set that draws on Jackson’s most beloved hits, deep-cut favourites from across his 40-year plus career, sitting alongside selections from Hope and Fury.
It will be an evening of what Jackson describes as ‘playing the songs people love, alongside the ones that still surprise me.’ It will be 100% live music featuring Joe’s touring band — bassist Graham Maby, guitarist Teddy Kumpel, drummer Doug Yowell and percussionist Felipe Fournier.
“Jackson shows impressive range throughout the night and his keyboard skills remain sharp… a satisfying show” – NEXT magazine (Toronto) – May 2026
“Nothing but sublime satisfaction… an abundance of highlights drawn from seven of Jackson’s 22 studio albums” – The Oakland Press (Detroit) – May 2026

About Hope and Fury:
The tour comes on the back of Hope and Fury, Jackson’s latest studio album and one of the strongest of his career, released worldwide via earMUSIC on April 10, 2026. Recorded with his longtime band — bassist Graham Maby, guitarist Teddy Kumpel and drummer Doug Yowell, augmented by percussionist Paulo Stagnaro — the nine-track album showcases the wit, melodic craft and genre-blending energy (Jackson calls it “Bicoastal LatinJazzFunkRock” due to dividing his time between New York City and Portsmouth UK) that have defined his music since his debut more than 45 years ago.
