Getting onto the stage for the very first time for a show in Tennessee, Chet Faker was met by a very crowded and adoring room. This show was an absolute mood from start to finish. Amazing lighting shines through a stage completely filled with haze. They didn’t waste any time and immediately jumped into the song “Drop The Game” that they had recorded with the band Flume a few years ago, and then immediately into one of their other major hits, the cover of Blackstreet’s song “No Diggity.” When that was concluded, he chatted with the crowd and said it was going to be a full show with a ton of new material and songs from previous releases.

When he mentioned he had never played Nashville, let alone in Tennessee, I was honestly stunned and felt fortunate to be able to include this in my memories for years to come. The audience was pretty lively at times, and they did have to stop the show for a few to be escorted out due to being too loud, but once that was done, the show went back to it, and no other second was wasted. There were an amazing number of songs I would like to highlight that I was extremely happy to hear performed live including “Drop The Game.” When they got to the end of the main set with “Low” the audience was ready for just a few more before the night would be concluded. Chet came back and jumped into a 3-song encore, ultimately ending the evening off with “Gold.” I chatted with a few people on the way out of the venue, and they were beyond ecstatic to have been able to catch this performance as well. If you have a chance to catch him perform, you will absolutely not be disappointed.
