FIVE-Jacksonville isn’t shy about hosting loud shows, but on this night it felt like the whole building was vibrating. Steel Panther rolled in ready to wreak havoc, and from the moment the lights dropped, chaos took the wheel. The crowd was already buzzing before a single chord rang out — and within minutes, the rumors were true: panties were flying before the first song was even over. Steel Panther arrived — and if subtlety was ever an option, it was destroyed on sight. They ripped straight into “Eyes of a Panther,” immediately proving that the joke has never been the music — because their playing is razor sharp. Satchel’s guitar cut through the room like a chainsaw soloing over a glitter storm, while Stix kept time like a man both commanding the chaos and barely hanging on. From there, it was a parade of glam-metal debauchery. Each track blurred the line between arena-rock parody and genuine rock-and-roll reverence. Steel Panther may write with tongue firmly in cheek but every riff is legit, every vocal harmony lands, and every member is locked in. Between songs, the band’s trademark banter filled the room: part comedy set, part improv roast, and part group therapy for the criminally horny. It’s a formula only Steel Panther can pull off — musical precision wrapped in the filthiest lyrics imaginable. They closed with a back-to-back-to-back knockout of “Death to All but Metal,” “Community Property,” and “Glory Hole.” Every chorus became a shout-along, and every fan — whether in denim, leather, or absolutely nothing — was all in.

Production was pure glam chaos: blinding colors, haze blasting across the room, and a stage presence that pushed past theatrical into something like weaponized rock-and-roll. With Steel Panther’s heavy-metal burlesque, the night felt like a time warp — 1987 Sunset Strip, revived and amplified for 2025. Steel Panther’s shows are something every rocker needs to experience at least once. From pole dancers and shameless stage antics to a crowd that treats every chorus like a battle cry, there isn’t a dull second in their set. The whole production is soaked in that unapologetic ’80s, Sunset-Strip swagger — just updated for the 21st century and somehow even louder. More than two decades after their debut, Steel Panther show absolutely no signs of slowing down. They’re taking this circus to Ormond Beach next, and while we won’t be there to catch it, we’ve got no doubt it’ll be every bit as wild.

It was loud.
It was obscene.
It was perfect.

FIVE-Jacksonville became a cathedral dedicated to distortion, absurdity, and the joy of being wildly inappropriate in public.  And honestly?  Rock could use more nights just like it.
