A Dirty Dozen with MICHAEL GOLARZ from ALL SINNERS – October 2025
According to a recent press release: “Massachusetts-based hard rock / metal band All Sinners are proud to announce the release of their brand-new single “Into the Flames,” along with an accompanying music video, out now via Rat Pak Records. The track serves as a preview from the band’s highly anticipated new studio album, We Own the Night, set for worldwide release on November 14, 2025. The new album marks a bold step forward for the band, combining their signature heavy riffs with more complex arrangements and raw, emotional depth. This powerful new collection of tracks showcases the band’s growth both musically and thematically, building on the foundation laid by their debut EP while introducing new sonic territory that will leave fans and newcomers alike in awe.” We get singer / guitarist Michael to discuss new music, influences, and more…
1. Tell us a little about your latest release. What might a fan or listener not grab the first or second time they listen through? Are there any hidden nuggets you put in the material or that only diehard fans might find?
The new album is really the first time we had to deep dive into making a full album. 11 tracks of material and how it intertwines track to track. Pacing of an album cause we still look at it as a full composition like the old days. As far as nuggets, I do stuff like have my 9 year old sing backgrounds to entertain myself. But I’m not telling where it is! Haha
2. What got you into music, and can you tell us about the moment you realized you wanted to be a musician?
It happened for my around 5 years old. I was obsessed with Kiss. My parents bought me the albums. So music was always important to me. As I got older it never went away and I figured out it’s the only thing I’m half way decent at.
3. Building on that, is there a specific song, album, performer, or live show that guided your musical taste?
Again, it all started with Kiss for me. But I also had access to my parents record collection which had everything from Hendrix to Donna Summer so I got a little taste of everything. But I got drawn to the heavier stuff and that kind of shaped my taste for sure.
4. If you could call in any one collaborator to do a song with, who would it be, and why?
Oh boy….ok…he’s not alive but someone like Prince. I would love to see how a musical geniuses mind works.
5. What is your favorite activity when out of the studio and/or not on tour? What do you like to do to unwind?
I’m kind of a homebody. I love just being home with the family. I also love motorcycles and riding.
6. How would you describe your music to someone who’d never listened to you before? What is the one comparison a reviewer or fan has made that made you cringe or you disagreed with?
I think the easiest way to describe it is 80’s British metal with a modern twist. Our influences really come through so it’s a familiar sound I think. I haven’t had a cringe comparison yet. I’m really honored to be compared to other acts. It’s nothing to be uptight about.
7. When your band is hanging out together, who cooks, who gets the drinks in, and who is first to crack out the acoustic guitars for a singalong?
Well Nick and I are always the first at the bar or wondering when the venue starts serving. And we don’t really do singalongs! Together at least.
8. When was the last time you were starstruck and who was it?
I got to sit with Willie Nelson. That was a holy shit moment.
9. What is the best part of being a musician? If you could no longer be a musician for whatever reason, what would be your dream job?
I would say just seeing people into something that you’ve created. It’s a trip when people know the word to your songs. And if I couldn’t do that I’d probably hope to be in it somehow, helping someone else do it. That would be a dream job for me.
10. What is one question you have always wanted an interviewer to ask – and what is the answer? Conversely, what question are you tired of answering?
I don’t really have one..But…”What do I think about Britney Spears current mental state?” Answer: “Someone should really take her social media acounts away from her!!” Question I don’t want to answer …”How did you come up with the band name?”
11. Looking back over your career, is there a single moment or situation you feel was a misstep or you would like to have a “do over,” even if it didn’t change your current situation?
Yes, but I don’t regret it cause I had a blast, but I veered off course from the type of music that I love and wish I spent that time where I am now. So we’re here now and full speed ahead!!
12. If you could magically go back in time and be a part of the recording sessions for any one record in history, which would you choose – and what does that record mean to you?
The White Album. How could you not want to be in that room with Paul, John, George and Ringo at that time? With all of that tension…Yoko….the ideas flying around. I mean it must have been nuts.
