Venue: The Mill at Cannery Hall

Date: September 16, 2025

Review and Photographs by: Jacob Smith (https://www.jhs-photo.com)

Jumping onto the stage to a very enthused crowd of older punk rockers mixed with some younger generations, the legendary Buzzcocks got right to business. They played selections from throughout their career, and even though they had a setlist, just like true punk rock fashion, they did their own thing instead. Playing hits like “Promises,” “Orgasm Addict,” and “Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve?).” This was my first time ever being able to catch a Buzzcocks performance. Growing up listening to punk rock, the Buzzcocks were always on my mixtapes. So this was one of those highly anticipated gigs to catch…and they did not disappoint. They had 2 sets and an encore. It was a very impressive night. The crowd was constantly singing back to the stage along with the music, which I always absolutely love. Crowd participation is always an achievement for perfection in a show. Their set lasted a little over an hour and a half. And for that amount of time, no time was lost. Literally no time was spent between numbers. Overall, this was a very fast-paced performance perfect for anyone who loves punk rock and energetic crowds. With a few limited dates on the US tour this trip, I highly recommend everyone grab a ticket and catch punk legend Steve Diggle and the Buzzcocks perform.
