Being a huge fan of the Bosch TV show, it’s remarkable that before now I haven’t taken the time to read one of Michael Connelly’s 39 (to date, with another due in 2025) novels featuring Harry Bosch, his daughter Maddie, or detective Renee Ballard.
All three feature in this story chasing a lead about a potential domestic terror attack, whilst Maddie and Ballard chase a cold case involving the infamous murder of a wannabee starlet many years hence; as well as tracking the Pillowcase Rapist.
Connelly writes masterfully, ensuring The Waiting is hard to put down. If all his books are this good, I need to go back to the nearest bookshop stat and start from the beginning.
