Getting onto the stage to a highly energized crowd King Dunn immediately jumped into a few Melvins songs “Hung Bunny” and “Roman Bird Dog” to start the night out right before switching to two King Buzzo numbers “Dark Brown Teeth” and “Laid Back Walking.” Once they got the crowd fully in tune to the attitude of the evening they started into a few new numbers for the duo “Dirty One & The Poor Dog,” “Eat The Spray,” and “I Like Clean Stuff.” They then changed pace a bit and jumped into a Dicks cover of “Sidewalk Begging” and several more Melvins covers for the remainder of the night that included “Suicide in Progress,” “Science in Modern America,” “Revolve,” and “Boris. Before closing out the short but sweet evening with a cover of Kiss’s “Shock Me.”

King Dunn is comprised of King Buzzo of Melvins and Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle. They are a very talented duo that do not need anyone else on stage with them to fully dominate the venue. All they need is Buzzo on guitar and Dunn on standup bass and massive sounds will ensue. Low-lights and large sounds filled this evening perfectly.  Doomy acoustic sonic bliss commenced with a masterclass on how to cram in a powerhouse in sound and keep sets short and perfect. I left feeling satisfied and already wanting to have the night start over so that I could enjoy the performance a second time. This show is highly recommended to see.

Setlist: Hung Bunny – Roman Bird Dog  Dark Brown Teeth – Laid Back Walking – Dirty One & The Poor Dog – Eat the Spray – I Like Clean Stuff – Sidewalk Begging – Suicide in Progress – Science in Modern America – Revolve – Boris – Shock Me
