Idles hit the stage to a highly energized and excited crowd at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, TN to a sold out and highly energized crowd. Everyone was there to see an amazing live performance. The evening was an absolute fun filled event. The first track of the evening “IDEA 01” was a buildup to immediate chaotic energy with “Colossus.” The third track in their packed set of 24 songs guitarist Lee Kiernan was already in the crowd surfing and playing. From there it just didn’t let up for the remainder of the evening. They played a multitude of  songs from their entire catalog and the audience was delighted. Lots of high energy and well timed pace of the show was perfect but time flew by too fast. I could have enjoyed another full set but the overall show was already packed with lots of high points and numbers. Numerous circle pits and walls of death were formed throughout the course of the evening. This was the second time I had been fortunate to see Idles perform and will always catch them when I can. “Never Fight a Man With a Perm” is one of my favorite songs they have done and was excited to see that they included that on the setlist for the evening. The crowd knew all the songs and there were numerous moments where the vocalist Joe Talbot just let the crowd sing along for him. Near the end of the evening the other guitarist Mark Bowen got into the mix and crowd surfed while playing as well. All of the songs off of their current album TANGK fit seamlessly into the full set of older material. The stage setup and lighting were exceptionally on point with the mood and vibe of the evening. Sold out shows at Marathon Music are always a blast to attend. Idles are absolutely brilliant live and a very highly recommended show to see for any fans of raw energy and skill.
