Vika & Linda add more shows to their national An Evening with Vika & Linda tour, including Melbourne, Perth, Canberra and Adelaide

Touring now, this new show frames Australia’s most loved vocal duo in a beautiful new light, with their magical voices accompanied only by grand piano.

Vika & Linda have added new dates to their An Evening with Vika & Linda tour, which kicked off in March. The new dates add appearances in Perth – as part of the Perth International Cabaret Festival – and Canberra and Adelaide, as well as weekend in Cowes, on Victoria’s Phillip Island, and, for the first time ever for the sisters, a show at St Kilda’s historic National Theatre. The tour goes through to early November and the new dates are highlighted in the full list below.

Having already played a handful of Victorian and NSW over the last few weeks, it’s clear Vika & Linda are at the top of their game and the intimate, stripped-back nature of these performances is something that audiences are loving. As The Australian Musician said of a recent performance, “The sisters are so incredibly in sync, but also let their own distinct personalities shine through in their performance. They do so much more than just sing, Vika & Linda totally embody these songs and make every single syllable count.”

It’s been a crazy few years for Vika & Linda, and not just in the ways that it has been for all of us.

June 2020 saw them release their career-spanning collection ‘Akilotoa and score their first Number One Album. Not a bad start. Three months later they released their gospel album, Sunday (The Gospel According To Iso), which debuted at number two. Into 2021, September saw them release their first album of new material in nearly two decades, aptly titled The Wait, which also went to number two. And 2022 was no less frantic. The Queen’s Birthday saw them awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for their service to the performing arts, and they ended the year with not only their first Christmas album, Gee Whiz, It’s Christmas!, but their long-awaited memoir No Bull, which documented their journey from Doncaster, in suburban Melbourne, to the top of the charts.

If 2023 saw Vika & Linda relax just a little, they still managed to tour extensively with their crack band the Bullettes, and cap the year, for the second year running, with a sold-out all-star Christmas show.

And now we’re into 2024 and they’ve decided to strip things back and kick off the year by doing things a little differently. Inspired by many wonderful band room singalongs and soundcheck experiences with their long-term collaborator, producer and musical director Cameron Bruce, Vika & Linda have decided to pare it back to just their voices and the beautiful sounds of Cameron on grand piano.

So that’s what they’re going to do. Starting in March and touring nationally, An Evening with Vika & Linda will present Vika & Linda with Cameron Bruce and a career-spanning selection of their favourite songs, performed as most people have never heard them before. Indeed, unless you’ve been at those bad room singalongs or soundchecks, these shows will give you a whole new insight into Vika & Linda and their music. And their voices of course.

It’s a bold move; not only will these concerts showcase the rich beauty of their voices like never before, but the format will leave them laid bare as singers. But Vika & Linda have never been a pair to shy away from a challenge, and the last few years have shown they’re up to anything. An Evening with Vika & Linda will be an experience none of their fans should miss.
