To an extremely energetic and nearly sold out audience Sevendust hit the stage in full force at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, TN. High energy and full of all those metal vibes one would want in a show. They played a varied spread of hits from their entire catalog. This was the second time I have seen Sevendust live but the first time was an acoustic tour so seeing them full force was absolutely stellar. Stage setup and lighting were exceptionally on point with the mood and vibe of the evening. Their set only lasted around an hour and a half but how they stacked the evening with new and old songs it honestly was perfect. Spreading out the main hits off their first album over the course of the performance kept full form and flow for the night. The final song on the set was “Face to Face” and everyone was ready for it. Such a great final song to end a loaded evening of rock.
The intro for the headliner of the evening was Pantera’s “Walk” followed up with “Let’s Do the Time Warp” from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Once that played out the lights came up to a massive skeleton with the screens showing flames behind it and foam spraying up into the air. Immediately Static-X hit the stage and the crowd The majority of their setlist was off of my personal favorite release of theirs Wisconsin Death Trip. They hit a few tracks from Machine and a few from their other albums. Near the end of their set they played “Cold” and had a video tribute to the much missed and loved Wayne Static, who sadly passed away in 2014. After a short break the band came back onto stage and introduced all the members and ended the evening with my personal favorite track from the band “Push It.” The entire crowd began to surge and play and mosh and bounce beach balls around. Overall this was an extremely enjoyable event. There was not a sad face in the crowd except that the show was over. These are two bands that are highly recommended to catch live even if you aren’t that familiar with their music. A highly recommended show for anyone of metal and industrial.
