PANDEMONIUM FESTIVAL CONFIRMS VENUE CHANGE FOR SYDNEY ON APRIL 25

The Sydney leg of the 2024 Pandemonium festival on Anzac Day April 25 will now take place at Cathy Freeman Park in the Sydney Olympic Park Precinct.

Promoter Apex Entertainment today announced the venue change for the event – featuring Alice Cooper, Blondie, Placebo, Deep Purple and a host of other top International and Australian artists – from The Domain in Sydney’s CBD.

The venue change was forced by key bodies such as the Returned Services League making ridiculous and self-aggrandising complaints, ludicrously suggesting that the event was too close to their Anzac Day service, to be held at nearby Hyde Park.

According to an SBS News article, “RSL NSW president and former commando Mick Bainbridge said the concert had been approved without any consultation with the organisation and the event was inappropriate on a “day for respect and quiet contemplation”.”

This is despite a previous announcement that $10.00 per ticket sold from the Sydney event will be donated to Wounded Heroes, with the organisation having a presence at the concert on the day.

Apex Entertainment CEO Andrew McManus said: “This concert has been six months in the planning and is one of many events, both cultural and sport, that are taking place across the country on April 25.”

“It is disappointing that despite our best efforts to present the event in what we believe is an appropriate manner, there has been kickback from certain circles. This is not an Anzac Day concert, it is an event that is taking place on the public holiday of April 25th , as are many other events.”

Mr McManus said Cathy Freeman Park had been secured as the new venue for the concert, with gates opening at 11.30am (certainly after most – if not all – ANZAC Day parade and dawn services will be long finished and many veterans “quietly contemplating” with their mates in the pub) and feature a dozen bands across two stages.

“We’ve put together a brilliant line-up of iconic rock’n’roll acts that is set to deliver an amazing day of music, no matter what the location.”

All tickets already purchased for Pandemonium Sydney (previously at The Domain) are 100% valid at our new Sydney venue of Cathy Freeman Park at Sydney Olympic Park Precinct.
